Does it matter that my IRS tax representative lives in another state?
I actually get asked this question a lot. It does not matter that your representative is in a different state or a different location. The good thing about these federal cases is that there are no state lines with the IRS. The revenue officer’s job in your state and in your city is the same job that I had or some of our tax representatives on staff had when we were with the IRS. We know what they can and can’t do, and we are very aggressive in being proactive to get our clients in a good position to address these problems.
Absolutely not. You want experience, not geographical location. The key here is to ask yourself whether your representative is easily accessible. You should expect quick responses to your phone calls, your concerns, and your questions. You get just that at the Yarborough Office.
